Purlins are galvanised Z profiles, produced by cold roll forming. They are fixed to the rafters of the primary structure and due to the overlaps between the purlins on the rafters, act as continuous beams.

Eave purlins can be C profiles or double Z profiles. Connections are made using galvanised bolts.
